Starting from humble beginnings as a small bootcamp in Surry Hills, today, we are a national brand on a mission to “Inspire Change” in the Global Fitness Industry.

In March 2023, Fitness Playground became One Playground, representing our move beyond fitness and aesthetics to become an all-encompassing playground for health and fitness.

Leadership sits at the heart of that mission, our Club Managers set the tone for every club, and the standard for how our teams perform and grow.

THE ROLE

We are expanding rapidly, with 5 new club openings scheduled across the next 12 months, creating a rare chance to grow your career within a thriving, fast-paced organisation.

Our multi-service gyms are some of the best in the country, with each club led by a team of 2-3 Managers, 35+ Personal Trainers, 30+ Group Instructors, and a membership team serving 5,000+ members.

As Club Manager, you’re a highly skilled leader capable of running every part of a multi-service club, consistently meeting and exceeding our brand, performance and culture standards.

This is a role for a leader with a deep passion for developing people, ready to own the full club experience: driving sales and service performance, growing a high-performing team, and building a culture members never want to leave.

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Your responsibilities encompass 5 key areas of success:

Business Management

• Own the performance of your club across every department, from coaching to group fitness, with a clear view of what’s driving results and what’s holding them back.

• Dive into your monthly numbers, turning data into decisions and spotting the next opportunity for growth before anyone has to ask you to.

Sales Management

• Build and lead a sales team that performs under pressure and thrives on a challenge, coaching them through lead generation, lead management and the moments that matter most in the sales journey.

• Set the bar for new member growth, and hold your team, and yourself, accountable to it.

Member Experience Management 

• Make every member feel like they matter, managing enquiries, accounts and debt with the same care you’d want for your own.

• Stay ahead of the trends shaping fitness and wellness, bringing fresh ideas to senior leadership on how we keep raising the bar for our members.

People Management

• Develop your team like you mean it: structured coaching, timely training, and a genuine investment in where each person wants their career to go.

• Build a team worth staying for, recruiting, hiring and onboarding new Great Humans who raise the standard of your club.

Culture & Standards

• Maintain a world-class facility and gym floor that reflects the One Playground brand standard.

• Build a culture of support, accountability and continuous improvement within your team.

• Represent the company’s values and leadership standards in everything you do.

ABOUT YOU

• You have an exceptional ability to motivate, inspire and connect with your team and members alike.

• You’re a strong communicator with excellent organisational and time-management skills.

• You lead by example, with high personal standards for execution, presentation and communication.

• You’re as comfortable with a spreadsheet as you are on the gym floor, using data to make smarter calls, not just report on them.

• You have a genuine interest in fitness and wellness, this is a career, not just a job.

• You’re ambitious about your own growth and excited by a defined pathway to progress.

YOUR EXPERIENCE

Not all experience is created equal. But the successful candidate will have a track record of leading high-performing teams, a sharp commercial instinct, and a genuine love for helping people be their best. You’ll likely have:

• Led a team to strong results for 3+ years in a fast-paced, target-driven environment, in lieu of a formal tertiary qualification.

• High standards of execution, paired with clear, confident communication.

• Confidence working with performance reports, KPIs and lead management processes.

• Strong customer-facing skills, including handling feedback and resolving complaints professionally.

• A proven ability to inspire, motivate and instruct people towards their goals, and a genuine enjoyment in doing it.
