Starting from humble beginnings as a small bootcamp in Surry Hills, today we are a national brand on a mission to “Inspire Change” in the global fitness industry.

In March 2023, Fitness Playground became One Playground, representing our move beyond fitness and aesthetics to become an all-encompassing playground for health and fitness.

Coaching and Group Training sit at the heart of that mission, our classes are one of the biggest reasons members choose and stay with One Playground.

THE ROLE

We are expanding rapidly, with 5 new club openings scheduled across the next 12 months, creating a rare chance to grow your career within a thriving, fast-paced organisation.

We're all about giving our members a huge range of amazing experiences, and our Group Training classes are a massive part of that, delivering over 1,500+ classes every week.

As a Group Training Instructor, you'll take full ownership of your own classes, delivering structured, high-energy sessions that keep members coming back and turn first-timers into regulars. You'll work across our program library, from set-format Prescribed classes through to Supported and Freestyle formats, bringing your own personality and coaching style to every session.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Class Delivery.

• Bring every class to life - leading formats with the energy, music and cueing that keep members coming back for more.

• Coach with confidence, tailoring corrections, progressions and regressions so every member feels challenged, supported and seen.

• Own the room. Your voice, your energy and your presence set the tone for an experience members can't get anywhere else.

Class Management & Preparation.

• Set the scene for a great class every time, with the studio, equipment and vibe dialled in before members walk through the door.

• Make every member feel welcome from the moment they arrive, especially the first-timers finding their feet.

• Deliver a seamless experience start to finish, running to time and handing over a space that's ready for whoever's up next.

Coaching & Community.

• Learn members' names and build genuine relationships that turn a single class into a habit.

• Make first-timers feel welcome and supported from the moment they walk in.

• Create a class culture members want to be part of, and celebrate their effort and progress along the way.

• Grow your class by retaining the members you have and bringing in new ones.

Your Growth.

• Cross-train across programs, formats and modalities, building the versatility that sets our top instructors apart.

• Engage in mentoring, development sessions and ongoing education to sharpen your craft.

Culture & Standards.

• Represent the company’s values and standards in everything you do.

• Contribute to a culture of support, accountability and continuous improvement within your team.

ABOUT YOU

• You light up a room, and you feed off the energy of a class as much as they feed off yours.

• You're a natural connector who remembers names, makes people feel seen, and turns strangers into regulars.

• You communicate with warmth and confidence, and you can read a room and adjust on the fly.

• You love the spotlight, and you're motivated by seeing (and hearing) the impact you have on people's day.

• You're constantly searching for opportunities to grow, develop and perform beyond expectations.

• You'd rather be part of a buzzing team and community than work alone.

YOUR EXPERIENCE

• Minimum Certificate III in Fitness, or a Specialty Group Fitness Qualification.

• Experience delivering group fitness classes is highly regarded; confident instructors ready to step up are also encouraged to apply.

• Current First Aid & CPR certification.

• A track record of building rapport with a room full of people and getting them to come back for more.
