Starting from humble beginnings as a small bootcamp in Surry Hills, today we are a national brand on a mission to “Inspire Change” in the global fitness industry.

In March 2023, Fitness Playground became One Playground, representing our move beyond fitness and aesthetics to become an all-encompassing playground for health and fitness.

Coaching sits at the heart of that mission, and it’s why we built One Coach: our dedicated coaching brand and the engine behind the results our members come to us for.

THE ROLE

We are expanding rapidly, with 5 new club openings scheduled across the next 12 months, creating a rare chance to grow your career within a thriving, fast-paced organisation.

As Head Coach, your mission is to build a world-class coaching team that delivers life-changing results for our members. You’ll lead the coaching function within your club, owning coach performance, new client onboarding, and the day-to-day standards that make One Coach a globally trusted coaching brand.

This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who loves coaching the coaches as much as they love coaching clients. You’ll be across the people and the numbers, reading reports and reading a room with equal confidence.

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Coaching & Client Success.

• Drive client results and satisfaction through world-class coaching, habit creation and engaging client experiences.

• Maintain the coaching standards that protect the One Coach product, from intro sessions and price presentations to ongoing service quality.

• Own your club’s coaching performance across all key metrics, including client growth and retention.

New Client Onboarding.

• Lead the onboarding experience to ensure new clients are set up for long-term success from day one.

• Manage lead allocation strategy and provide clear, regular updates to the membership team.

• Keep onboarding performance at or above benchmark through strong process and follow-through.

Coach Development & Leadership.

• Recruit, onboard and mentor coaches, supporting their progression through the One Coach career pathway.

• Run regular 1:1s, small group coaching sessions and team meetings that lift performance and engagement.

• Lead training sessions and performance reviews, and professionally manage any escalations.

• Build a leadership pipeline, spot and develop future mentors, development coordinators and Head Coaches from within your team.

Business Performance & Reporting.

• Own reporting and analysis across your club’s coaching KPIs, and act on what the data tells you.

• Drive department revenue through client acquisition, coaching penetration and coach retention.

• Deliver against your 6 month business review and forward plan.

Culture & Standards.

• Maintain a world-class facility and gym floor that reflects the One Playground brand standard.

• Build a culture of support, accountability and continuous improvement within your team.

• Represent the company’s values and leadership standards in everything you do.
  

ABOUT YOU

• You genuinely love coaching coaches. Helping others grow is as rewarding to you as personal results once were.

• You’re comfortable with KPIs and reporting, and you use the data to make better decisions, not just report on them.

• You lead by example, with high personal standards for execution, presentation and communication.

• You’re a clear, confident communicator who can give feedback, manage conflict and stay composed under pressure.

• You have a genuine interest in fitness and wellness, this is a career, not just a job.

• You’re ambitious about your own growth and excited by a defined pathway to progress.
  

YOUR EXPERIENCE

You’ll likely have built a strong track record as a coach or personal trainer, and have either led a team already or clearly demonstrated the leadership capability to step into it. The successful candidate will have:

• Proven experience as a coach or personal trainer, with a track record of strong client results and retention.

• Experience leading, mentoring or supporting the development of other coaches or team members.

• Confidence working with performance reports, KPIs and lead management processes.

• Strong customer-facing skills, including handling feedback and resolving complaints professionally.

• A relevant fitness qualification (Certificate III/IV in Fitness or equivalent).
